Demi Lovato slams Lady Gaga's SXSW set: 'Eating disorders not artsy at all'

Demi Lovato has condemned Lady Gaga's recent SXSW festival performance.

The 'Skyscraper' singer took to Twitter today (March 14) to criticise the 27-year-old's performance of 'Swine', which involved vomiting performance artist Millie Brown.
Sad... As if we didn't have enough people glamorizing eat disorders already. Bottom line, it's not "cool" or "artsy" at all.

Pharrell Williams and Will.I.am settle lawsuit

Pharrell Williams and will.i.am have settled their legal differences in a trademark dispute over the phrase "I am other".

Last year, Williams tried to trademark the name of his company I Am Other. As Rolling Stone reports, The Black Eyed Peas frontman objected to the name and sought legal action against Williams on the grounds that people would confuse the company with his own venture I.Am.Symbolic.

Williams argued in his lawsuit that will.i.am's mark was generic. "The I Am Other mark means 'I am something else,' leaving what that 'else' is to the imagination of the consumer," documents read. "It certainly does not mean 'I am Will' or in any way suggest defendants' or the will.i.am mark."

Lady Gaga wears a Coffee filter Dress

Lady Gaga is known for her distinctive styles. She once wore a dress made of raw beef.  But her latest fashion frenzy pulled inspiration from around the house – a frilly outfit made out of coffee filters.
She wore the ensemble on Thursday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ahead of her performance at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
The creation, designed by Gareth Pugh, featured a ruffled dress, cape and giant matching hat complimented by platform shoes.

Lily: Negativity keeps me awake

Lily Allen admits comments about her new video keep her up all night.
The British singer has recently made a return to the music world after taking time out to start a family with her husband Sam Cooper.
Her latest album Sheezus, Lily's third studio record, has a May release date and is already courting controversy.
She recently released the third promo from it, Our Time, and can't help but check what people are saying about it.
"I couldn't get to sleep because I was up until three o'clock in the morning just, like, looking at YouTube comments on my new video. You get addicted to the negative side of stuff," Lily revealed to thedebrief.co.uk.
"So then you go looking at the sites where you know people are going to be horrible. And then you become convinced that the entire world hates you. You're sat there at three o'clock in the morning like, 'Oh God, what am I doing, why am I doing this to myself?'"
Lily's music has always drawn criticism.
She burst on to the scene in 2006 with a rebellious attitude and lyrics to match. She was quickly known for her partying ways too.
Her talent for shocking hasn't faded since becoming a mother to daughters Ethel, two, and 14-month-old Marnie, and she poked fun at the obsession with women's weight in Hard Out Here, the first track to be taken off her new album.
Despite her hard exterior, 28-year-old Lily says that negative comments still affect her, but she strives to put things into perspective when feeling down.
"My mom said something to me a few years ago, before the whole digital media thing came into play. I called her up really upset because I'd read something horrible and she said, 'How did you feel before you read that thing?' she explained.
"I said, 'Absolutely fine,' and she said, 'Has anything actually, really, in the world, changed since you read that thing?'' http://music-news.com/shownews.asp?H=Lily:-Negativity-keeps-me-awake&nItemID=77180

Skrillex wanted a crazy debut album

Skrillex wanted his debut album 'Recess' to be crazy and said streaming it on his app was for the fans.

Skrillex wanted his debut album to be "crazy".

The dubstep producer, real name Sonny Moore, kept details of his record 'Recess' a secret before streaming it in full on his Alien Ride app on Tuesday night (11.02.13) ahead of the official release on March 18.

Skrillex told Rolling Stone magazine the process was about: "Taking my sound and expanding on it, but being more playful, taking it to different places."

The record features a number of cameos, including Chance the Rapper, Diplo and Kid Harpoon and Skrillex insists he has worked hard to make the album cohesive.

He explained: "I call my songs vibescapes ... There's always a foundation under the tracks that you can feel and pick up on. An emotion. There's a lot of organic samples ... wind, breaths, clocks cut into tiny pieces.

"I never made pure club music early on. All the first Skrillex releases were hard to mix into."

He added: "I wanted to make a crazy record [but] I wanted to stay true to who Skrillex is."

Talking about the mysterious app, which was nothing more than a game with a countdown clock, Tim Smith, his longtime manager, said: "That signals that something's coming, but no one knows what it is."

Skrillex, 26, admits he'll probably make less money sreaming his album through the app first but it was "more about the fans." http://music-news.com/shownews.asp?H=Skrillex-wanted-a-crazy-debut-album&nItemID=77191
